These terms apply to your use of schoolsafe.com, the website of SchoolSAFE Communications (“SchoolSAFE”, “we”, “us”). By using this site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.

1. What this site is

schoolsafe.com is an informational website. It describes our interoperable communications solution for schools, school districts and public safety agencies, and publishes articles about school safety.

That is all it does. There are no user accounts, no login, no registration, no forums or comment threads, and nothing is sold or ordered through this site. The only way to send us anything is our contact form.

Nothing on this site is a contract for services. Any SchoolSAFE deployment is governed by a separate written agreement between us and the district, agency or organisation concerned. Nothing here is legal, safety or emergency-management advice, and it is not a substitute for your own emergency planning or for the guidance of your local public safety agencies.

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of this site at any time.

2. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be described rather than quietly made. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

3. Our content

Except where stated otherwise, everything on this site — text, images, graphics, logos and layout — belongs to SchoolSAFE Communications or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright and trademark law.

You may read, print and share pages for your own reference or for the internal purposes of your school, district or agency. Please do not republish, sell or redistribute our content commercially, or present it as your own, without asking us first. We are generally happy to say yes.

“SchoolSAFE” and our logo are our trademarks. These terms do not give you any right to use them.

4. What you send us

If you use our contact form, please send only what is needed to start a conversation. Do not send confidential, proprietary or sensitive information, and do not send information about students, through this form.

We treat unsolicited ideas, proposals and suggestions as non-confidential. If you send us one, we may use it without obligation to you. If you have something confidential to discuss, contact us and we will arrange a proper channel for it.

5. Links to other sites

This site links to resources published by other organisations — government agencies, grant programmes, standards bodies and news outlets among them. Those sites are not under our control. We include the links because we think they are useful, not as an endorsement, and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability.

6. Copyright concerns

If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright or other rights, please contact us at the address in section 11 with enough detail to identify the material and your claim. We will look into it promptly and remove anything we should not be publishing.

7. Disclaimer

This site and its contents are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the information on it is complete, current or accurate. School safety guidance, grant programmes and funding rules change; verify anything you intend to rely on with the relevant authority before acting on it.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SchoolSAFE Communications will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or use, arising out of your use of this site or of any site linked from it — whether or not we have been advised that such damages might occur.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SchoolSAFE Communications and its officers, employees and agents from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your misuse of this site or your breach of these terms.

10. Governing law and international use

This site is operated from Colorado, United States. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and both of us submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Colorado.

We make no representation that the material on this site is appropriate or available for use outside the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you are responsible for complying with your own local laws.

If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision on one occasion does not waive it.
