Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 August 2026

This policy describes how SchoolSAFE Communications handles personal information on this website, schoolsafe.com.

It is deliberately short, because this site does very little with your data. schoolsafe.com is a static website: a set of fixed pages with no accounts, no login, no database and no scripts running in your browser. The only information we receive from you is what you choose to type into our contact form.

What we collect

Information you send us through the contact form. If you fill in the form on our contact page, we receive the details you enter: your name, your email address, and — if you choose to provide them — your phone number, your role, and your message.

These fields are all optional except your name and email address, which we need in order to reply to you. Please do not include sensitive information, or any information about students, in the form.

Basic technical records kept by our web host. Our host records standard server information when a page is requested, including the IP address making the request, the page requested, and the date and time. This happens for every website and is used to serve the site and to protect it from abuse.

What we do not collect

To be explicit, because these are the things people usually want to know:

How we use what you send us

We use the details from the contact form for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, if a conversation follows, to discuss school safety communications with you. We do not add you to a marketing list on the basis of a contact form submission.

Who else sees it

Our website is hosted by Netlify, which also processes contact form submissions and passes them to us. Netlify acts as our service provider and handles the data on our instructions.

Beyond that, we share personal information only where we have to: if the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.

How long we keep it

We keep contact form submissions for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and to keep a reasonable record of our correspondence, and then delete them. If you would like us to delete your enquiry sooner, just ask.

Children

This site is aimed at school districts, public safety agencies and the adults who work in them. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information through the contact form, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us at the address below and we will help. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the Colorado Privacy Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act, or the GDPR — we will honour those rights regardless of where you are.

Because we do not use cookies or tracking, there is nothing to opt out of, and no “do not track” signal for us to act on.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this site handles personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will say so clearly rather than quietly editing the text.
